Mazihaven rules and privacy

In short: your journal stays on your phone, your church sees only what you choose to show, and we treat each other well.

Version 3 · October 2026 (in testing; draft, to be checked by a lawyer)

What Mazihaven is

A private prayer journal on your phone and your church’s app: services, groups, events, a prayer wall.

The app is in testing. You can use it without an account (the journal only) or with an account, in a church.

Your journal stays on your phone

People, prayer requests, notes and answers are encrypted on your phone and sent nowhere: not to us, not to the church.

Only the contacts you pick are added. Your address book is not read and does not leave the phone.

Exception, only if you choose it: when you take a request from the church wall with “count it here too”, only “I prayed” is sent.

What we keep on the server

For an account: your e-mail, display name, password (irreversibly hashed), your churches and groups, and the messages and requests you write there.

The server is in the European Union (Frankfurt). Each church sees only its own data.

Your profile (phone, “about me”, birthday) shows only if you choose: the whole church, your groups or nobody.

Church announcements show how many people opened them. Pastors and whoever published the announcement can also see the names of those who opened it and of those who did not.

Support group messages are end-to-end encrypted: neither admins nor we can read them.

We do not sell data, show ads or use tracking tools.

Your rights (GDPR)

You can download all your account data (Me → My account → Download my data), correct it and delete your account at any time.

You can withdraw consent for your profile at any time by choosing “Nobody”.

Questions: privacy@mazihaven.com. You may complain to your data protection authority.

How we behave

With respect for every person. No harassment, insults, threats, hatred or discrimination.

No sexual or violent content, scams, ads or repeated messages (spam).

Do not publish other people’s details (phone, address, health) without their consent. When asking prayer for someone, share only what is needed.

Do not pretend to be someone else or use the app to find things out about people without their knowledge.

When rules are broken

Any message, request or profile can be reported. Group leaders and pastors can hide content and remove a person from a group or church.

We can suspend or close accounts that break the rules.

Illegal content, above all content that endangers children, is reported to the authorities.

Children

Accounts are for people aged 16 or older. Children do not have accounts.

Children’s details are entered by parents or guardians; only they and the leaders of the child’s group see them, and every leader view is logged.

Support groups

Support groups help, but do not replace medical or psychological care. If you are in danger, call 112.

What you publish: rights and responsibility

What you publish (song lyrics, announcements, photos, messages, any other content) stays yours or your church’s. By publishing, you and your church warrant that you have the right to do so: you wrote it, it is in the public domain, or you have the permission of whoever holds the rights.

You give us only a limited, non-exclusive, free licence, for as long as the content stays published, to host it, copy it technically (backups) and show it to the audience you chose (your church, your group or, for the public song library, the worship teams of other churches, who may make a private copy for their own use).

The public song library accepts only texts you wrote, texts in the public domain, or texts you are licensed to pass on. Do not publish protected texts you have no right to distribute (for example songs copied from books or websites without the rights holder’s permission).

You (and your church, when you publish on its behalf) are solely responsible for the content you publish. If a third party claims damages from us because of your content, the church or person who published it covers our losses, including reasonable defence costs, to the extent the law allows.

Our role: hosting, no review in advance

Mazihaven is a hosting service provider: we store and show content published by users. We do not read or approve it before publication and we do not monitor it as a rule.

We are not liable for user content as long as we did not know it was illegal; once a well-founded notice tells us, we remove or hide it promptly.

Notice and takedown (copyright and illegal content)

If you hold rights in a text, image or other content and believe it was published without permission, or you found illegal content, write to drepturi@mazihaven.com or follow the steps at mazihaven.com/copyright (the notice mechanism of Article 16 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, the Digital Services Act). In the app, a public song can be reported directly.

A notice should identify the work and where the content appears (for example the song number), your contact details and a statement of good faith. Details: the /copyright page.

When we receive a well-founded notice, we hide the content and tell the church that published it, which may reply with a counter-notice. The removal can be reversed if it turns out to be unfounded.

Romanian copyright law (Law 8/1996) remains applicable; we do not replace the courts or decide who is right, we act as a host.

Repeat infringement

A person or church whose content is repeatedly removed for infringing the rights of others may lose the public sharing feature (for example the public song library), and in serious cases the account or church may be suspended or closed.

Liability and governing law

The app is provided as is, in testing. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages or for user content, and our total liability to you does not exceed what you paid for the service in the last 12 months (zero while the app is free). This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law (for example for intent or personal injury).

These rules are governed by Romanian law. Disputes are heard by the competent courts of Romania, without affecting consumers’ right to go to the courts of their own country or to the EU ODR platform.

When the rules change, the app shows you the new version and asks for your consent again.
